JoAnn M. Winkler, 79, of Wadsworth went peacefully to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family on Sunday, May 27, 2012. She was born on March 13, 1933 in Wadsworth to the late Glenn and Muriel Swagler. JoAnn was a member of Crossroads Community Church in Doylestown. JoAnn had a passion for writing poetry, she enjoyed playing cards, sitting in the sun and reading. Most of all she loved her family, being a mom, grandma and great grandma.
She was preceded in death by her brothers: Don, Dick, Larry and Robert Swagler.
JoAnn is survived by her children and their spouses: Laura Turzak, Rick (Connie) Winkler, Karen (Bill) Reeves, Mick Winkler, Jeff (Sandy) Winkler, and Jody (Kevin) McDougal. There are twenty one grandchildren: Terra, Justin, Dave, Nikki, Ricky, Zack, Rachel, Jamie, Tessa, Billy, Daniele, Samantha, Makena, Brooke, Kyle, Kourtney, Zak, Colton, Cameron, Cassidy, and Caitlyn, two great grandchildren: Clay and Brooke, two sisters Bette Yonkich and Helen Stekle, one brother Tom Swagler and her dear friend Bob Ruth also surviving.
A memorial service will be conducted 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 30th at Crossroads Community Church, 700 Gates St. Doylestown, with Pastor Jerry Butcher officiating. The family will receive friends 5:30 - 7:00 PM Wednesday at the church.
