


Iafelice, James
James Iafelice, 90, of Wadsworth died Saturday May 8, 2010. He was born September 16, 1919 in Oretino, Italy to the late Giavano and Donna Marie Iafelice. Mr. Iafelice was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during WWII in the 1st Special Service Force and received the Silver Star for his heroic efforts in Anzio, Italy and was the former owner of Cook's Drive In where he was known for his famous Galley Boy.
He was preceded in death by his sister Olga Manning.
Jim is survived by his wife Opal with whom he celebrated 61 years of marriage, one son and daughter in law Robert J. and Sharon Iafelice of North Canton, OH, one daughter Christine and her husband Toby Butt of Hinckley. There are two grandchildren Erica and Bobby Iafelice of North Canton along with many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday (TODAY) 6-8 PM at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home 174 N. Lyman S. Wadsworth where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Wednesday. Interment with Military Honors will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Medina County, 797 N. Court St. , Medina, OH 44256 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
