Obituary
Pearson, Margaret Ann

WADSWORTH,

Margaret Ann Pearson, nee Kolton, of Wadsworth, Ohio, died unexpectedly but peacefully while visiting her son and sister in Alexandria, Virginia on July 2, 2013. She was 92 years of age.

Mrs. Pearson was born in Coalton, West Virginia, one of eight children of Frank and Rose Kolton, but spent her childhood and most of her life in the Akron, Ohio area. Upon graduation from Saint Mary’s High School in 1939, she began working in retail and then in the Art Department of Firestone. She met her future husband, William Larz Pearson, when he visited Akron as part of the traveling World War II Army War Show. They married in May 1944.

She devoted her life to her husband, who predeceased her, and to her two children. She prided herself on her home-making skills, but she never lost her artistic flair and imagination. She was an excellent cook and an avid reader and gardener, with a yard full of colorful and unusual flowers. She was generous with her time and a sympathetic listener. She was a woman of faith and prayer, reciting the Rosary every day. In her later years, she was greatly helped by the kindness of her neighbors, the Tim Rhodes family.

She is survived by her son, William Larz Jr., and Rick Trevino of Alexandria, Virginia, and her son, Stephen and his wife, Andrea (nee Kucler), of Gilbert, Arizona; grandchildren, Patrick (wife, Yvonne) and Amanda, of Phoenix, and Drew (fiancée, Kat) of Los Angeles, California; great-grand daughter, Ashley Durham, of Gilbert; sisters, Vivian Swigart of Navarre, Ohio, Barbara Easterling of Alexandria, Virginia, Martha Lipford and James Kolton, both of Akron; and many nieces and nephews. We will all miss her practical common sense, her sense of humor, and her love for all of us.

Mrs. Pearson attended the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Wadsworth, Ohio.

The family will receive friends Monday 4 to 8 PM, Rosary Service at 7:30 PM, at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman Street in Wadsworth. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Father Joseph Labak celebrant, 272 Broad Street in Wadsworth. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. In place of flowers, if you prefer, you may contribute to the Alzheimer’s Research Fund, Catholic Relief Services, or any other charity you think would honor her memory.
