Betty J. Reitz, 81, of Wadsworth, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011. She was born December 23, 1929 in Bluegrass, Virginia, to the late Warren and Mary McLaughlin.
She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed traveling and playing slots. Most of all she enjoyed her family, friends, and a good party. Betty never met a stranger.
Betty was preceded in death by her grandsons Dominic and Anthony Ciccolini, and one brother Gary McLaughlin.
Betty is survived by her husband Bob Reitz with whom she celebrated 61 years of marriage, three children Jeanne (Donald) Ciccolini of Wadsworth, Mark (Sheryl) Reitz of Akron, and Barbara (Robert) Esakov of Akron. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jimmy (Karina) Ciccolini, Steven Reitz, Michelle Reitz, Scott (Kelli) Esakov, Sarah Esakov, and 2 great grandchildren Niccolo and Maggie Ciccolini. She is survived by her siblings George (Linda) McLaughlin, Joan (James) Bonner, Patricia Kirschner, Mary (Ed) Doyle, Diane (Dick) Smith, and David McLaughlin.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday, April 14, at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday. Interment will be in Western Star Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
