William C. Root, 84, of Wadsworth died Sunday December 12, 2010. He was born September 20, 1926 in Chippewa Lake, OH to the late Harry and Etta Root. Mr. Root was a WWII Army Veteran, had lived in Atlanta, GA for 33 years where he worked for Coca - Cola and retired after 25 years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post #170 and VFW Post #1089 where he was a Past Commander.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother Bobby and step daughter Jo Ann Bush.
William is survived by his wife Ethel, step son Larry Reynolds, sister and brother in law Pat and Elmer Wasko, grandson Rick Bush, granddaughters Amanda Reynolds, Melissa Reynolds Anderson, Katy Reynolds, niece Nancy Rooks and nephew Robert Wasko.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Fairlawn Lutheran Church, 3415 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44333.
