Lenora M. Ross-Carter, 90, of Wadsworth passed away Thursday November 4, 2010. She was born on January 25, 1920 in Norton to the late Ernest and Ruth Frase. She was a member of Wadsworth United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, in the Women's Circle, in many study groups, and Woman of the Year in 1998. For many years she was a High School teacher in Barberton and several area school districts, and a long time substitute in the Wadsworth District. Throughout the years she was a volunteer tutor in the schools, was a member of the Red Hats, learned to Brail so that she could transcribe books, was a prolific sender of birthday cards and had sponsored several children through World Vision.
She was preceded in death by her husbands John C. Ross and Charles (Ken) Carter and her sister Hilda Ross.
Lenora is survived by her children Bonnie (William) Adams of Wooster, Martha (Brian) Johnson of Mauldin, SC and J. Charles Ross of Wadsworth; her grandchildren Jennifer Johnson, Jeffrey (Candace) Adams, Christopher (Nicole) Adams, Jonathan Ross and Jacob Ross; one great grandson Jason Adams and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1-4 PM Sunday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Monday at the Wadsworth United Methodist Church, 195 Broad St. Wadsworth. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to STEPS (Wooster), Wadsworth United Methodist Church, or World Vision.
