Mary "Midge" Mitchell Royse, 71, of Wadsworth passed away unexpectedly at Akron City Hospital on Saturday, January 23, 2010. Born September 28, 1938 in Pontiac, MI.
Midge was a graduate of Northwestern University School of Nursing. Her career in nursing spanned over 50 years of helping those in need. She worked all aspects of nursing over the years and in retirement volunteered for the Red Cross as a first responder. Midge loved her family, friends, neighbors, and community. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved spending time with her wonderful friends and was the life of any gathering.
She was an avid gardener, loved to travel, loved to read and keep up with politics and current events. She believed that you always leave everything you touch in life better than when you found it. Through her love, laughter, and respect she has left a warm and enduring trail of kindness and good, to which we can all aspire to immolate.
Preceded in death by brother James Mitchell.
She is survived by daughters; Meg Sidote-Royse, Beth (Walter) Hemker-Royse, and Amy (Tommy) Kelly-Royse, grandchildren; Michael Sidote, Lindsey Sidote, Katie Kelly, Liza Kelly, and Luke Kelly, and many family members abroad.
The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Friday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth.
