Eleanor Jane Rood, 82, passed away Friday, July 27 2012. She was born April 12, 1930 to the late Russell and Helen Jones in Barberton, OH.

Eleanor was a member of the United Church of Christ in Barberton and the Chippewa Township Fire Department Women's Auxiliary. But most of all, Eleanor was known for her love and devotion to her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Bob Rood.

Eleanor is survived by her sons, Gary (Rose) Rood of Rittman and Rusty (Gina) Rood of Rittman, her daughter, Sherri (Dave) Cook of Wadsworth, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and her sister, Bobbi (Dick) Fletcher of Deltona, FL.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 2, from 4-7 PM at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, OH, where a memorial service will take place Friday, August 3, at 10 AM with Pastor Bob Combs officiating. Inurnment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family requests contributions be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 6100 Rockside Woods Blvd., Suite 445, Independence, OH 44131.
