James C. "Bud" Moore, 88, formerly of Collingwood, Ontario, Canada and Hudson, OH, and more recently of Wadsworth, OH passed away Tuesday March 27, 2012. He was born on September 8, 1923 in Hull, Quebec, Canada to the late William G. and Eliza J. Moore.
Mr. Moore was a decorated veteran of the Seaforth Highlanders of the Royal Canadian Army, was a prisoner of war during WWII and later received the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal. He was a former member of First Presbyterian Church of Hudson, having been instrumental in bringing the church to Hudson and serving on the Building Committee.
Bud had a long and successful sales career with the Abitibi Corporation before starting his own business, Jaymore and Assoc., as a manufacturer's rep in the building supply industry. He was a pee wee hockey coach in Northeast, OH and was an active member of the Collingwood branch of the Canadian Legion, where he was dedicated to working with the Cadet Program. Bud was often asked to speak at schools and share his experiences of serving
in the Canadian Army and having been a POW. He always enjoyed talking to the children and answering their questions.
He was preceded in death, in 2002, by the love of his life, Shirley, with whom he shared 46 wonderful years of marriage, and one sister Muriel Butler.
Bud is survived by his children: Stephen Moore, Lisa (Jennifer Riehm) Moore of Columbus, OH and Chris (Sherri) Moore of Wadsworth, three grandchildren: Ryan, Colin and Kara Moore and his dear friend and neighbor Floyd Parks.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Collingwood, Ontario, Canada.
