Stanley Smith, 86, of Wadsworth passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013. Born June 6, 1926 in Copley, Ohio to the late Steve and Carolyn Smith.

Stanley loved woodworking and being a carpenter. He and Betty enjoyed living in several homes that he had built.
Stanley served in the U. S. Marine Corps during WWII, attended First Christian Church and member of the LaGrange Masonic Lodge #339 F&AM. He entered the Ohio Highway Patrol Academy in May 1954. After graduation he was assigned to Bucyrus, Walbridge, Bellefontaine, and Elyria post. In 1971 he was assigned to General Headquarters in Columbus, Ohio where he retired in June of 1978.

Stanley was preceded in death by his brother Walter Smith, sisters Josephine Luchsinger and Wanda Vale.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Betty Smith (Easterday), and sisters Helen Hefferon, Mary Brow, and Natalie Wahl. Special nephews, Ray, David and James Leighton and many other nephews and nieces.

Family will receive friends Friday March 1, 2013 from 11-1 PM at First Christian Church 116 E Boyer St. Wadsworth, Ohio. Where Funeral Services will be conducted at 1PM with Rev. James L.Singleton officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
