Robert R. Kallman, 89, of Wadsworth, died suddenly in his home on Friday, July 22, 2011. He was born in Cleveland and lived in Wadsworth for over 50 years.
Mr. Kallman worked as a plant engineer with the Firestone Tire & Rubber Company in Akron from where he retired in 1989 after more than 30 years of service. Mr. Kallman served as a navigator and radar operator in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946.
Mr. Kallman is survived by Margaret E. Kallman, his wife of 16 years. Mr. Kallman was preceded in death by his wife Mildred B. Kallman. He is survived by sons, Robert R. Jr. of Denton, Texas, Thomas M. of Cincinnati, Neil J. of Indianapolis, Joel R. of Powell, Ohio; daughters Jane F. of Medina, Kathy M. of Kent and Susan M. of Columbus; step-children Roberta Svegel of Reed City, Michigan, Brian Svegel of Castle Rock, Colorado, Marjorie McNabb of Silver Springs, Maryland; and grandchildren, Elizabeth, Edward, Aaron, Daniel, Jacob, and Zachary.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday, July 26, with a prayer service at 8 PM at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth. The family will also receive friends from 9:30-10:30 AM on Wednesday at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Wednesday, July 27, 11:00 AM, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 260 Broad St., Wadsworth. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
