Sue Schmeltzer, 83, of Wadsworth passed away Sunday, April 24, 2011. She was born on October 25, 1927 in Akron.
Sue was a member of Northside Christian Church where she was active with Senior Saints, the Wadsworth VFW Auxiliary, DAV Auxiliary and a life member of the VFW National Home for Children in Grand Rapids, MI.
She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Ethel and Myron Skinner.
Sue is survived by her husband Wayne with whom she celebrated 59 years of marriage, her sons Doug (Laurie) Schmeltzer and Jeff Schmeltzer, both of Wadsworth. Two granddaughters Valerie (Dave) Welday of Seville and Emily (fiancé Jessie) Schmeltzer of Wadsworth.
The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, where funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon Thursday with Pastors Robin Hart and Ernie Graf officiating. Interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Northside Christian Church or the Wadsworth VFW Auxiliary.
