Gene H. Sir Louis, aged 92 of Sharon Center, passed away on July 28, 2024. He was born in Akron, OH on January 3, 1932 to Lloyd Sr. and Mattie Bell (Weiss) Sir Louis. Gene enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids in their various sports and activities, hiking with family, beach vacations, and collecting Eeyores. He grew up in Copley, OH where he drove dump trucks and school buses. Gene became a machinist which led to him holding several positions, machine shop manager and technical director. He was one of the founders of Sharon Center Pee Wee football and was a long time member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Sharon Center Volunteer fire department, and the Sharon Center Lions Club.
Gene was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Katie Sir Louis; his brother, Lloyd Sir Louis Jr. and his parents. He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Feick) Sir Louis; his children, Gene Sir Louis Jr., Dave (Martina) Sir Louis, Elizabeth Sir Louis, Randy (Jennifer) Farnsworth, Vicki (Tracy) Fortner; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 PM until time of funeral service at 6 PM on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church 6462 Ridge Road in Sharon Center. Graveside service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Sharon Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church.
